Mossbourne Community Academy celebrates exceptional, record-breaking GCSE results
Mossbourne Community Academy, part of the Mossbourne Federation, is celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results in 2026, with students achieving record-breaking levels of attainment and outstanding outcomes across a wide range of subjects.
This year’s results represent a significant achievement for the academy and its students, with:
21% of all grades awarded at Grade 9
39% at Grade 8 or above
56% at Grade 7 or above
84% of overall grades were at Grade 5 or above
The strength of the results achieved by the incredible Year 11 2026 cohort is particularly evident in the number of students achieving the very highest levels. 52% of students achieved at least one Grade 9, while 14 students achieved an attainment 8 score of a perfect 9.00, representing the highest possible average grade across their best eight qualifications. Just under a third of all students achieved an attainment 8 score of 8.00 or better, while 50% of students achieved 7.00 or better.
The academy’s overall attainment 8 score was 6.69, with particularly strong performance in the English Baccalaureate. The EBacc value-added score of 6.85 demonstrates the substantial progress students made across the full suite of EBacc subjects.
More than half of the cohort achieved Grade 7 or above in 14 subjects, demonstrating the breadth as well as the depth of academic achievement. These subjects include Mathematics, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Latin, Geography, History, Sport, Art, Religious Studies and Food.
There were also particularly strong outcomes in the core academic measures:
81% achieved the Basics measure at Grade 5 or above
88% achieved Basics at Grade 4 or above
66% achieved Grade 7 or above in English
51% achieved Grade 7 or above in Mathematics
48% achieved Grade 7 or above in Science
53% achieved Grade 7 or above in Languages
58% achieved Grade 7 or above in Humanities
