We are highly ambitious, passionate and determined to achieve success in every aspect of school life, nurturing happy, balanced, confident, and inquisitive children. 

We strive to strike a balance between encouraging them to step out of their comfort zone, seek adventure, and develop resilience, while ensuring that they feel safe, secure, and supported. By the time your children leave our academy, we have broadened their horizons, developed their all-round potential and given them the view that education is an enriching and enjoyable experience. 

Herd Lane is part of the wider community that believes that educating children is a task jointly shared by home and school. Children benefit most when we work closely together, and we are proud of our thriving FOMHLA, regular parent workshops, and parent council. 

We are also fortunate to have close links with all other academies under Mossbourne Federation, ensuring our pupils can seamlessly transition to secondary.  

We have an excellent range of after-school activities, which the children enjoy and value.  Our academy provides quality wraparound care from 7:15am to 6pm, as well as offering school holiday club provision 50 weeks of the year, helping many of our working parents. 

Herd Lane provides every child with the opportunity to fulfil their fullest potential, academically, socially, and emotionally by promoting an inspiring educational experience that goes beyond the curriculum.
